So I wake up this morning for work and hope in my car to take off. Well, I start it and the idle is really weird kinda shakes from side to side real slow. I just pull it out of the garage and sit for a second. I figure may it is cold and needs a minute. After while I give it a little gas so that maybe it would go away. Nope..... It starts sounding like possible rod knock or something. If you think of a desiel truck idleing. That is kind of what it sounds like. The car revvs up fine and all. I didn't drive it to see if it had any other issues. I just turned it off and drove my other car.

The car is a 1992 SC400 with about 179,000 mile on it. It had plenty of oil in it. It was due for an oil change soon. I just can't think of anything that would make that noise.

So if anyone has a suggestion on what it maybe let me know please and thank you.

I definately am not driving it. I will have to try and take a video of the noise and see what you guys think. Do lifters have a high pitch sound or a lower tone?

If you think about it it sounds like when you are being taken up the ramp of a roller coaster. Just a bit faster sounding.

Noise increases with rpm's. When I give it gas it gets louder so I assume it is rod knock. Who knows the motor is jacked anyway..... I am so pissed. I guess it is time to look into a 1jz or something.
