Yeah, probably your mass air flow isn't tight or is unpluged. if not then you might not have tightened your hoses completely.

It's probably the box under your intake, small black box about 12 inches long and 5 or 6 inches wide. Make sure it is snug to the main intake tube.

I have the complete Injen intake with the Rod Millen big air filter and I don't hear anything or feel any changes... Replacing your intake will not solve your stalling out problem... Messing with your MAF could cause that problem, removing the mesh screen and damaging or not reinstalling will do that, loose vacume hoses or disconnected hoses may cause that problem...A bad ground wire can do that too....Even a loose snorkel tube that connects to your throttle body will mess your idle up... Re-check your MAF and electric plugs, all your vacume hoses, unplug your battery for a few minutes and re-connect then give it a go.....

I play around a lot with the air intake on my RX and I am also at about 8,000 feet where I actually live. Even if pull the EFI fuse and/or disconnect the negative battery cable, I still get what you describe and I just have to let it sit there for a few minutes, give it a little gas and be patient and eventually it comes to life. Just a function of the ECU.

Did you make sure you put the MAF in the correct position. There is an arrow on there that shows which direction the air should travel to. If thats the case, just flip around the MAF and try that.

it can, the mesh actually directs the air over the sensor to correctly read air. without it the turbulence for the air moving could have an idle spot near or at the sensor wire location. back when i worked at lexus i had a customer that sucked a rock in through the a bfi he made and it ripped through the pannel filter (this was the first and only time i've seen it happen) and damaged the honey comb...long story short we replaced the honey comb and it did fix it. a week later the sensor died but that was from him trying to clean the sensor wire.
