Soarer swap options with '96 and up SC300's?
Obviously the 1JZ Soarer swap into '95 and below SC300's is very common. If I had a better chance at getting a '96 and up model, what are my swap options? I know it's obd-II compared to obd-I, so would't swapping ecu's for the obd-I allow the install of the '95 and below 1JZ motor?
My concern is having less daily reliability in a '95 compared to maybe a '99 or '00 ...yet I would like to do the 1J swap.

Motor swap aside ...other components of cars(drivetrain, suspension, differential, etc.) do fail sometimes.
Plus, chances are that newer car have less wear and tear on the interior, exterior, body, and everything else. That is just common knowledge.
It appears though that I could go NA-T if I don't pursue a JDM engine swap. Other ideas anyone? I'm fairly new to the Lexus/Toyota scene.

Toyota rubber products go to crap extremely quickly, so whether its a 92 or an 00, all the bushings will be just about shot. Interior seems to hold up well and the best thing to do is look for a well maintained car. I will say that going with the 97+ you will atleast get all the newer body panels and with the 99+ you'll get the 3 spoke steering wheel and performated seats.

My options are a '99 s2000, '00 ws6, or a '95 sc300. All 3 can be fun, but I am looking for overall best reliability. I would like to get somewear around a 97+ sc300 because they will probably be less abused, but my swap options are less available.
The thing is I own an '87 RX7. Like every other single RX7 it breaks a lot and it has severely wore me out. Now I am researching my best to find the most reliable car without it being some ***** economy car.

I'm 6'2 lol. That slightly effects my choice on the s2000. I sat in one but did not drive it, so I'll have to test one out soon to see how much leg space I have under driving conditions.

Your just going to have to take the plunge and find out. The wiring might be a little more involved since you would be adapting the OBD-1 engine/harness to the OBD-2 body. If you take your time and put your mind to it you'll be fine.
