Default manual gear box problem

Hi guys.I got 93 sc 300 with a manual 5 speed.I have a hard time puting it into and pulling out of gear when cold. I have tried changeing the gear oil but that didnt help. I put 70W-90 in it. Any got any ideas on what could be wrong with it. (possible bad syn.)

Mine has been doing the same thing since the winter months have rolled around... but it shifts almost silky smooth when warm. I have a particularly hard time downshifting into first, and upshifting into second. All the other gears are fine. So, I just let the car warm up for 5 - 7 minutes in the morning and keep out of first until I come to a complete stop. Problem goes away after like 3 minutes of driving.

I've also become a freakin connoisseur of double clutching and heel-toe braking/engine braking.

I know it'd be easier to "just have it work," but I think it's just that the synchros are getting old (after 10 years, it happens) and the fluid is too cold for the synchros to catch.

If you have a hard time doing it when the car is still, well, then that's an entirely different problem. I would check/change the clutch fluid and if that doesn't fix it, then have a mechanic inspect the situation. Could be the master and slave cylinders.

Thanks for the reply. I think your right the synchros are just old.The car has a new clutch in it. But i never changed the clutch fluid. I also have a hard time going into first unless i come to almost a complete stop. I am a mechanic for bmw . I now some times there are tricks out there to fix problrms.
