Default 2jz info

Whats up guys...

Wondering if theres such thing as a 2jz twin turbo with no vvti.

(I heard it was more expensive to run the computer needed for vvti, and its just an overall pain. Is this true?)

Also, where can I buy this? I'm in socal.

Thanks in advance.

any 2JZGTE out of a toyota supra will be non VVT-i. the only 2JZ with VVT-i, are the post 98 non turbo 2JZs. either the USDM or JDM supra MKIV motor will work fine. there are a few places that carry the motor sets. just do a google search and you will find a bunch. Jhot, and Jarco are good companies, just be willing to spend some cash when going with that motor.

Ok, got the vvti thing down. As for the different kinds of supra 2jz are there just, NA, single turbo, and twin? Or are there only 2?

Ive checked out some clips and engines around google for kicks and found they average from 2000-4000 max. So can I say I should expect to pay around 3500?

And thanks for the welcome.

there are only 2 versions. well, technically there are more, but lets leave the JDM out of this for now. there were only two offered in the US. the non turbo 2JZ-GE, and the twin turbo 2JZ-GTE.

there is a lot of great info on www.supraforums.com, www.clubna-t.com, and www.intellexual.net.

easy calvin... i dont have anything to do today, so this is a great thread. the supra TT was offered with both an auto and a 6speed. the non turbo supra has 2 options as well with an auto, or the same 5 speed that is available in the SC300. feel free to reffer to the links i posted... particulary intellexual. there is a whole lot of info about supra parts on the SC.
