Default VVTi swap question

I am pretty familiar with the 2jz and 1jz swap for the sc300 but I have recently found a pretty good deal on a 98 Aristo 2JZ-GTE VVti motor. I just would like to know if the VVti motor is any more difficult to swap than the non VVti. I have read that it is harder to turbo the NA version of the VVti but I havent heard anything in regards to doing a complete swap. My car is a 97 SC300 in case you needed that info.

From what I am reading the swap doesnt look to be much different but the motor itself seems a lot weaker. Maybe I should just hold on until I get some more chedder for a pre vvti motor?

or if your handy with a wrench, swap out the head with a non-vvti. (although i'm sure it is 10 times more complicated than that)

Well the motor I am looking at is around 800 and it seems at that price I would be a fool to pass it up. I am only really interested in staying at low psi so I dont think I run the risk of blowing anything but what do I know.

Sorry about that but now that this is actually in the right place I do have another question. The swap I am looking at includes tranny and ecu (not sure about wiring harness yet). I am assuming that I am going to need a year wiring harness the matches with the motor since it is vvti. My other and main question is this: the auto tranny that it comes with is advertised as steptronic which I am assuming is the same found in 98 and up sc300s. Since it is from an aristo I am unsure though. If it is the same I should be able to HOPEFULLY locate a wrecked 98 and up and use its center console...is there anything else I would need. Will the draft shaft need to be lengthened or shortened to use it. Also assuming now that I DO NOT want to go that route. Is it possible to use my stock tranny or maybe locate a pre 98 tt auto tranny and use that?
