Default car dying???

I did some searches but could not comeup with a answer for my problem.

For the past 2 months or so my battery light comes on every so often while driving. My battery voltage meter goes down to low 12's high 11's when this happens. I try to rev the engine but it doesnt help. After about 10 seconds of driving with the volage in teh 12's the voltage suddenly kicks back up to high 13's and the battery light goes off. This happens like evey other day. Then about a week ago my car wouldnt start. It cranked very strongly and the voltage was at about 12.3. It would just crank and crank but it wouldnt start. I waited a few hours and then tried again and it started just fine. Then yesterday i was driving and my car just died while driving. The voltage was at about 12.3 volts when i was trying to restart it on the side of the road. it started up after a minute of trying to crank it but the idle became erratic , i tried to gas it up to 3500rpm but it just died. Just like last time it would crank away but wouldnt start. I used one of those voltage booster jump packs and it started right up. What the hell is going on.

It may be something as simple as a bad battery. Check the voltage of the battery with the car running and all of the electrical items on (ie. stereo, wipers, headlights, interior lights, etc). It should be 12.5 or higher. Then check it with just the car running and the electrical stuff off. It should be 13.5+.

Also, when was the last time you changed the plugs and wires or gave the car a complete tune up?

It sounds very similar to the problem i had few days ago, i have found out that battery negative connection to the car was loose and ignition coil was bad as well, but like Jeremy said, change your battery, one to real Lexus standards, not some small cheap one, if problem still persists, check on things i mentioned. Hope this helps.
Brandon.

I was having issues with my negative battery terminal as well. First the car would start and immediatly die, unless i kept giving it gas. So I took the termianl off, cleaned it off some, and started the car back up. Now the car was idling at 200 RPMs. After I replaced the terminal, no more problems
