Default 1JZ in a SC4?

hey gang. it seems the only SC i can find here in hawaii is the 400. i currently own a turbo-charged car so going turbo on an SC is definately in my future plans. has anyone done the motor swap on a 400? i've heard that the cross members are different, are there any other issues?

hmm, i test drove one today and i was kinda shocked, i really didn't like the feel of the car! maybe because it was used, or the owner didn't take care of it or something. nevertheless, i shall keep hunting.

You can do it, but it may be easier to turbo the 1UZ. The 1JZ swap isnt impossible, but youre just going to turn it into a SC300 in the process. I dont remember the parts, but crossmember was one of em since the uz and jz mounts arent alike

I would personally stay away from messing with this. It may be a lot more trouble than you think you're getting into.

All the money you would spend to put a 1JZ swap into the 400 could spent on making the v8 way faster than the 1jz could be just by itself.

ORRRR....you could do forced induction on the UZ. I think Planet Soarer is doing a full build up of a supercharged one right now

If you wanna swap in a 1JZ you might as well buy an SC300 and swap it into that.

Good luck!

hmmm. i think im just gonna look for a manual SC300. my pops lives in san diego so maybe if i can find one there i could have it shipped here to hawaii. the SC400 is nice but i don't think it fits my future plans as far as tuning. did u guys see that manual swap on the V8 SC4 in aussie? that is sikk!
