exhuast help
im in NY....i have two 14829's ready to be installed....the sc300 has 2 cats correct?
if i remove the precat and all resonators with the new mufflers would it pass emmisions?
would just removing all the resonators give it a nice sound?

Haven't seen the set up on an SC300, but I'm guessing it's close to the Soarer 2.5GT... If that's the case then there's one cat (from looking at my car) and two resonators (one on each pipe after the Y-split).

Dunno. I'm not familiar with US emmission regulation (Aussie)... here in Australia you'd get past emissions (as long as a cat is still fitted), but you won't pass a drive by test (exhaust noise levels).

Tommy: Resonators have absolutely no effect on emissions so go ahead and cut em off.
I wouldn't touch any of the stuff in the front (CATs and pre-CATs) because you have a chance of messsing up emissions with those.
I have the 14829s with no resonators on my SC3 and it sounds awesome.
Tip: When you first leave the shop, you might think you wasted money because it didn't really change sound.
Just wait a few days/weeks.
The 14829s take a few months to fully settle into a tone but you'll notice it within the first few days.
Good luck.
