Default Raising coilovers?

My girlfriend just got a del sol and its on coilovers. I've never changed the ride height with coilovers before so I'm not quite sure how to do it. Shes got the special wrench tool....and thats about as far as we've gotten. TBH I haven't taken a look under the car at all... I thought I'd ask here before venturing in. We're raising it up so we can park it in my driveway...

also.. what do you guys think about running a 17x8 +24mm on it with a 215/40 tire?

haha i just raised my coils for the first time, its really easy, so easy i called llama to make sure i was doing it right. there should be 2 things u can turn on the coil, just use the tool she has to raise the top one up and when ur at the desired height use both tools and turn the top one down and the bottom one up for the to lock into each other

pictured above is an example of coilovers.

you see the green spindle with teeth looking like gaps that wraps around the silver threads? turn it to the right and you raise the car and left to lower... each full turn depending on what coilovers you have.... should raise/lower your car a certain amount of cm.... my tein ss coilovers for the IS's raises/lowers the car a quarter of an inch on each full turn.

alot of people separates the two green spindles and work with just one... that's what i do... it's a little bit easier... especially when your trying to raise the car ... i would recommend you wear thick mechanics gloves... one slip could cause you to hit something that may hurt and or have you bleed

Yep, just follow the instructions above. The more you compress the spring the higher it will be. Note that the higher you go the harder it will be to make more turns because you will be fighting against the spring. When your done be sure to put the lower spindle up against the upper one and lock them. hehe and yes to the gloves. I have the banged up knuckles to prove it

well most likely they're the ground-control type or skunk2 style. So it shouldn't be too hard. OR you could just get a good set of tokico blues and a decent set of lowering springs and sell the coilovers. Eh, just some options for ya.
