lol can you get a Altezza front clip though? All you really need are all of the RHD components and have good welding skills and I think it could be done. Cept you kinda run the risk of having your car totaled out due to the fact that your cutting the firewall and rewelding in a new one.

 

^i am pretty sure you can. there was a RHD altezza front clip for sale in vancouver, bc last year.

 

15 year rule for any imported car in canada. thats why back in 04, u guys started seeing a bunch of skylines r32s as they were finally allowed in. and now, u see a bunch of first gen aristo's and soarers.

 

Ya you Canadians have it made 10 years before us Americans. I see some R32s at the local drift events sometimes and theres nothing better than hearing a RB26 bouncing off the rev limiter .

 

they are soon changing that.

canada adopted the same US bumper laws, thus a lot of evo 8s being importer from the states. also i believe they are trying to change the rule to 25 years. which means either all cars that are already imported will be off the road due to not being able to be insured, or the price for them will sky rocket as they wont let any further to be imported.

 

They are already trying to stop importing cars that arent already registered in the states. I think R32/33's are the only skylines that can be registered. Im not sure about insurance, but I would imagine it would rob your bank. As they know it will be a total loss or a PITA to repair in case of an accident.

 

You can't register a Skyline unless they were registered before the importing period ended - which was years ago. There are very few Skylines that are actually LEGALLY registered (meaning to registering as 240SXs lol) and typically those owner's won't let them go.

 

Motorex fked up everything with their shady business practices. There is an article on the whole importing a skyline process and how its almost become nearly impossible to do legally. welp, it's been fun modding the IS, but my interests have moved on to another car. hopefully i could get my hands on one.

I think I've finally hit that age where I don't want to mod a car anymore. It sure took a long time, lol!

 

I never really got into modding.....I like the way my car looks and that was just w/lowering springs, window tint and a couple smaller cosmetic things. All I want now are 18's and window visors and I'm straight!
