Default should i go for it?

hey guys if none of you knew im looking for a project car...since i cant really work much with the lexus i wanna use it as a daily driver...i met a guy thats running a FD rx7 with the chevy small block LS1 motor from a 00' corvette...im thinking about picking up a FC rx7 shell for a couple hundred an taking on a similar project but with a LS1 motor an tranny from a camaro...what are your opinions? i know i want to go with a FC for a project whether its rotary or small block just because im still a high school kid and the actual cars go for cheaper than 240's an 86 etc....
