Replace Brake Fluid at 30k miles???
Hi, I own a 2016 Lexus NX 200t and my wife owns a 2017 IS 200t. She drives a lot more miles than I do and she recently passed 30,000 miles and she was told and the maintenance book confirms that Lexus says to change the brake fluid at 30,000 miles.
Is there some legitimate reason why Lexus specifies changing the brake fluid at 30,000 miles???? I drove three Honda Preludes to 150,000 and never had the brake fluid changed. And I more recently drove an Infiniti to 80,000 miles, all on the original brakes and fluid.
So why 30,000 miles for brake fluid on both of our Lexus cars/suv's???
thanks...

Brake fluid absorbs moisture overtime, which decreases its boiling point and performance. Generally you want to replace at around 3 years, which is around 30k miles for the average driver. Since your car is fairly new, I would postpone the service until ~3 years or when you need new brakes for convenience.

• Replace engine oil and oil filter (0W-20)• Rotate tires and adjust tire pressures as required
• Replace air conditioner filter
• Replace brake fluid
