Default 2019 nx300h front windows Tintable or not?

There is a coating on the two front windows in my 19 nx. I understand that you CAN NOT tint them Have any of you with a 19 or an 18 had it done ? Love to chat.

As far as I know the front and side windows do have a hydrophobic coating, but that is applied to the outside of the glass not the inside.

You may wish to check as what I am being told it is on the INSIDE . Thanks for responding The owners manual states that you may not use abrasives or razor blades on it Very Very fragile Scratches easily

I'm going by my manual for a 2016 nx, it does say not to use anything metal or abrasive on the outside of the front or side windows as to not damage the coating.

Interesting, any idea what it is? Anti fogging coating? Thats about the only thing I can think of that would make sense on the inside of the glass.

they call it ir in uv out and it has only 1% heat reflection so in Florida it is worthless.

I took my brand new NX300 in yesterday to have the front windows tinted to match the back. Apparently, there is a coating on the inside to which they scratched and now have to replace the entire window. I was told they can't tint over the top of this nor can it be removed. If you find out a different answer, I'd love to know as I would rather not have the window replaced. Plus, I think it's ridiculous that you can't tint them to match the back.

Lexus seems to believe that the tinting can be applied. However they do NOT have any idea what will happen when the tint fails and they need to remove the film as we think it will bond to the coating adn prevent removal I have been trying to get the answers and as of yet not successful Several of the tint manufacturers have warned their dealers not to tint the front windows until the issue is resolved The NX is the only Lexus to have this coating ad no one seems to yet state why.

Where did you get this done and did it come with a warranty when the film fails ?
