Just wanted to check and see if a new washer is needed for the caliper banjo bolt?

I'm sure every newer repair manual says yes, but the very old school among us may just anneal ours ourselves. They should be dirt cheap at your local auto parts store. The copper needs to be soft to mold to the surface imperfections of the banjo bolt and caliper. A couple of crushes makes them slightly harder than optimum. Same with oil pan drain bolts, if your vehicle uses copper or aluminum there.

This is super cool. Been debating doing this on my 2014 fSport. Everything seems pretty cheap other than the damn rotors. Any aftermarket or non dealer options? Probably not yet since it's so new. Thanks for all the info

I installed the RX500h calipers on my NX350h. Install was pretty straightforward.

Anybody find the torque spec for the caliper banjo bolt? That is the only spec I have not found for this caliper. Any help would be appreciated.

I put a copper washer in there because I found using the stock wasn’t enough.

Hoping one would come out, but I don’t think there will be any in the future.

For around to my install yesterday. Coated the rotor hats to help keep them from getting too dirty.

Amazing work, thank you for posting the details. Them prices are very good. Does anyone know any lexus dealers in the U.S that can offer international shipping?

I have asked my local dealer for a quote but the calipers alone are mega expensive in the UK

Cool! I wonder how the stability control algorithm competes with different brake hardware up front and now the apparently changed front/rear brake bias distribution (aside from the different clamping power up front). These algorithms are highly sensitive and very finely tuned. For example in the moose test, a tiny characteristic/algorithm mismatch can result in a failed moose test/flip over. just be cautious. just a thought. Further, how was proper brake bleeding accomplished? AFAIK software intervention is needed to fully and properly bleed the ABS/Stability control module which needs to be opened up electronically to evacuate any air in the *entirety* of the circuit. This would potentially throw another wrench onto issue #1 of the stability control programming of the computer can't clamp the binders. Just some food for thought! Looks cool though.

Also what about highlander brakes? They share larger hardware with the TRD Camry/Avalon and I believe (maybe) Sienna. I notice ES/Camry wasn't listed on the list of candidates for this swap. If ES=Sienna and ES=Camry, and this swap=Sienna, then perhaps this swap also=Camry/Sienna/ES as well. And Rav4 for that matter. etc etc etc.

This mod looks great. Dumb question, I've read through the complete thread and it appears ONLY the front brakes were changed to BBK? Is there a reason why there is no mention of the rear wheels?

The rear brakes are the same size on the RX500h and regular RX350, still a single piston sliding caliper. The rotor is a bit bigger at 338mm vs 317mm for the NX, but may not be worth it to swap unless you need new calipers.
