Default Car keeps asking for a pin

Recently the car started asking for a pin.

I asked for a reset link but it says cannot be sent.

The app works fine.

Tried opening the app when asked for pin but did not help.

It is very distracting and practically a safety hazard.

Turns out I can reset the pin in the app.

I called the local Lexus dealer and they had a technology person that pointed that out.

Do you have to have an app with this car or can you get by without using an app? I don't like putting apps on my phone or depending on the phone to make the car work.

You don't NEED an app, but it helps, and gives you access to a lot of info on the car. I've just setup customers who do not have a smart phone using my own phone, and then deleted the profile from my phone once it's done.

You have to have the app to set a destination in the nav.----------------------which sucks and so does the "cloud" nav. system. It's obvious why Lexus went to "cloud nav." and that is money. With on board nav. you still have the nav. even if you don't pay to update the maps, with the cloud nav, when your 3 years expire you get a blank screen unless you pay (I've heard around $200 a year).

If you don’t want to pay the money every month

Why not just use your Apple Play or Android?
