Default CarPlay Connection Issue

Apologies if this has been brought up in other CarPlay threads: Does anyone have an intermittent connection issue where the audio doesn’t come out the speakers, yet the time is elapsing on the song playing? Been having this occur pretty frequently on my car lately when playing music through Spotify. I end up having to enable the audio from the radio, then go back to CarPlay to replay Spotify in order to resolve.

Yes! I could not figure out how to fix it other than resetting my radio and closing out of the app. I’m not sure if it’s from a recent iPhone or Spotify update but it’s super annoying.

I've seen that with Android auto, but for CarPlay it is very rare. I've seen it once with CarPlay and that seem to be an issue with the app. I've actually seen GPS issues with waze, but that's an iphone issue and not Lexus interface issue.

One thing I've noticed it's just say Hey Lexus and then say cancel. The music should work again.

Glad I’m not the only one! I wonder if it’s a Spotify issue. I just looked at the update history on my iPhone and there have been three updates on their app within the last week. I’ve had my car for two weeks as of today. The first week it was connecting perfectly but I’ve noticed this issue within the last week.

Ok, I will try the Hey Lexus thing next time it happens. The issue itself is annoying enough, but I hate having to go out to the radio as a fix. If I can just talk a command, it can quell some of my annoyance lol.

Love your videos, by the way!

Mine happened again today. I tried the Hey Lexus and cancel, in addition to swapping to the radio, and neither worked for me.

Oh wow. It happened to me again yesterday and I did the Hey Lexus instead. It’s much easier to speak a command than clicking through a bunch of windows. I surely hope this issue rectifies itself through some sort of software update.

Yes, it worked. I just ask it to enable audio or turn on the radio. I click back to CarPlay once the radio cuts on.

We had this happen just yesterday while using Waze. We continued to receive verbal directions but the icon showing direction of travel froze and then totally lost connection and went through the phone's speaker. I rebooted the system when we got into better cell service range and it resumed tracking correctly.

The issue is happening to me on Spotify as well. That’s the primary audio source I use on CarPlay.
