Infotainment cannot display double-byte characters
I listen to Korean, Chinese and Japanese music and their album names and song titles have double byte characters. I know Android Auto and Apple Car Play can display DBCS but when I am not connecting to AA, the music screen is showing square boxes for DBCS. This is same for my 8 year old Toyota Highlander which my NX replaces. Since Toyota/Lexus is a Japanese company, I thought Lexus will support displaying DBCS in their latest infotainment system. My 5 year old Honda can also display DBCS.
Does anyone know if the dealer can add additional language character set into the infotainment system?
