Default NX Doors??

What's the deal with the NX doors? With my previous Lexus, you barely closed it and it firmly shut. However, with my NX 450H+, you have to use effort to close the doors or they'll stay ajar. It gets annoying, especially with passengers getting in and out of the car (I have to constantly remind them to shut the door with effort or it will stay ajar).

Has anybody else noticed this?

Laz

I have a 350, not a 450h+, but I doubt the doors are any different - and mine don't require any special force or care to close correctly.

I wouldn't say it takes a lot of effort, just have to put a little more swing to the door to have it shut completely. BTW, it's all 4 doors, not just one. Strange if I'm the only one experiencing this (if I am, need to take it back to the dealer to check it out).

I have complained about this is my 30 days review. It does need a little more of a push.

I just saw your video and it's exactly what I experience. It's not like a gigantic issue but really annoying when I have passengers. I wonder if it has something to do with the new electronic door handles?

Either that or the rubber seals are stronger and it takes more push to compress them.

Since it's not an issue on every single NX, it's worth investigating. A luxury car should not need extra force to close the door. That's why LS even have soft close doors, as its very crude to have to slam a door!

soft close doors for only an extra $50K over an NX On Yugo's the doors didn't even close.

YMMV,

NX 350 here. Good solid doors, so yes, they need to be closed with some deliberation.

Has anybody else noticed this?

I noticed the same on our 450, after a while it seemed to break in a bit. Unfortunately, it looks like the seals between the front and rear doors are now getting cut by the plastic clips that hold them to the frame, this started within the first 30 days. Anyone else have this? The second shot is the top layer of the seal lifted to show the clips.

Wow. That’s the first time I have seen hard plastic clips being used for the rubber seal. Not a very good idea if the photo above is an indication of things to come.

Wow! I'm at work right now but will take a look at mine when I get off.

I don't see this issue on mine... but you may want to zoom out on the photo so we can see exactly where you have these issues.
