Garage door opener, is there a way to turn it off while the car is parked ?

I’ve always wondered why the opener is active when the car is off.

We always park in the garage at night but we will sometimes park in the driveway during the day.

I've been wondering the same - however I haven't seen a way. This is the case on my Honda vehicles as well - the HomeLink is active regardless of if the car is started or not. Seems like an oversight to me.

Check your wired in garage control that you push to open/close door. My lift master has a “lock” button. Push that and the garage door opener will not respond to any remote command until you “unlock” the opener.
