How does the 2022 Lexus NX obtain traffic information for the cloud navigation for those that have a cloud navigation subscription? Does it use the connection to the phone using the main Lexus app or does it use XM Traffic?

 

It's a Lexus subscription service delivered to the car using Google maps with a Lexus overlay.

No it does not use your phone. The car has its own LTE hotspot and it uses the data from that to download the maps.

 

I actually found out that Lexus is using Mapbox, not Google, for Maps and Traffic apparently.
