Multiple deposits?
Indictment; Noun, wrongdoing. Trying to clarify the inefficiency and inequities
that are created when the formerly simple and honorable method of entering into
a contract where all sides agree to a common result. Unless you are legitimately
needing more than one car you should refrain from entering into multiple contracts.

both dealers know I have deposit down with them and will pick the first one that gets me vehicle I want.
made you upset for the dealers?

- Not sure why the pedantry on the definition when I was simply reading into the tone of your post given you didn't explicitly state what your comment was intended to convey or who you were responding to.
- I believe the forms I signed were specifically mentioned as NOT being contracts, so if you're going to use that concept, it doesn't necessarily universally apply in these situations.
- If dealers were, in general, "honorable" as you state here, the whole of the vehicle sales industry would look much different as would this conversation.
- Essentially, I reserved the right to purchase a handful of different vehicles before anyone else, that's it. That was the agreement made by both parties. When I made the purchase I did, I (by default) told the other dealers that I was passing on the right to purchase the vehicles in question before anyone else, honoring my end of the agreement. I figure this was good for them as they were now more free to use it as a bargaining chip with any number of other customers.
- One of the dealers I'd worked with was actually attempting to woo us by putting in a "fake" deposit to hold a vehicle being delivered in a matter of days so we could have more time to think about it knowing that we were looking at other options. So, he was facilitating this very system without my asking him to. Not exactly an indication that I was the "indictable" one for perpetuating the behavior.
