I have an iPhone 13 pro and an Apple MageSafe leather case with a wallet. When I leave the wallet on along with the case it never charges. When I take the wallet off it charges the majority of the time. When I take the entire case off the iPhone it charges all of the time. My partner has an iPhone 11 and has no issues charging even with the clear case on.

What phone are you using? Are you sliding the charging tray inwards?

I can put my iPhone 12 on it when the car is completely stationary and after a random amount of time the charger will disconnect. IMHO they have used a poor design.

I've tried it with my clear case both on and off. If the case is on, the phone will only charge for a few seconds whether I'm driving or not. If I take the case off, the phone will usually charge while the car is not moving...but as soon as I drive and the phone slides, then the charging stops. I have not been sliding the tray in. Is that the better way to use the charger? I should try that.

Yes. When the tray is slid in it should prevent the phone from sliding. Hope it works!

If I ever get my car back, I will try that! Thanks.

Had similar issues with the driver's mirror. Its considered normal though the technician said its a bad design cus his 15 years suv doesnt do that. Hopefully more folks complain and this will be addressed.

Interesting enough, I have a 2022 NX350 F Sport that has the mirror issue, it keeps wobbling on the drivers side, while the passenger side is normal. At times this issue is annoying at high speeds and the road bumps the vibration sometimes takes over, the run flat tires don’t help either, I will make an appt with the Lexus dealership soon.

I’ve experienced the auto safety braking as well in parking situations, especially my tight garage. (FYI, when it happens there is a large red “BRAKE” message on the driver screen so you know it’s doing its thing.) The car is a little too cautious in parking situations for me personally and I wonder if the sensitivity can be adjusted. It seems to be a little less aggressive if you don’t drive as fast in those tight situations—maybe try experimenting with decreasing your speed and see if you can find your sweet spot.

The first time it happened was when I was VERY slowly pulling into a tight garage space. Even though I knew I had enough space, I understood why the car stopped. But in the other 3 instances, I simply was not near anything. We are talking feet away from anything, not inches away. This is not normal operation.

The braking on my 450 f sport was very sensitive too. Almost caused someone to rear end me when me and another car were battling to merge into a lane one time. Also when my roomate or anyone else came near my truck or caused the brakes to engage. My guess was it detects people or what it thought were people and activates the brake. You can turn it off, but it resets every time the car is started.

Was this in a 2022? And do you just live with it like this? It seems dangerous to me.

Yes a 2022. Doesn’t seem defective, just seems like the system is over sensitive. I would prefer it off, dealer said with a signed form they could turn it off per me angle, but then seemed to walk it back when I tried to move forward.

i absolutely don’t like it, it just seems not well designed for a metro area like nyc, but I don’t believe it’s something the dealer can ‘fix.’ If your dealer says otherwise I’d be interested to hear how it goes, but then again I just totaled my truck - no braking sensors there ironically.

It not only seems unsafe to me, but it's just not drivable this way. I can't have the car stop every time I'm pulling into or out of my garage, or out of a parking space at the mall. Yes, there are other cars around. But I've been driving for decades, and have always managed to avoid hitting the other cars when I'm parking or pulling out of my driveway. Someone else posted that she was driving across a bridge, and the car just stopped. I'm scared to drive it this way...I can't just have my car stopping whenever it feels like it.

A couple of people reported that it was a problem with the brake actuator. My car has not been diagnosed yet -- the dealer has had it for a little over a week now. I will report back once they come up with a diagnosis.

YOu can turn it off each time you start the car, right? Somewhere in driver assist I guess.

I am curious the circumstances when this happens. In my case I can get REAL close to something before I get a warning and so far no computer applied brakes ever. So hoping this is a malfunction that can be repaired and not the way it is designed to work.

I hope your car does not have what mine has - they think its the brake actuator, but they are not sure. My car is currently in the process of getting the lemon law applied - good luck

We all know about the sudden braking issue over on the ES forums. It's annoying but normal.

Happened to me today when a car was like 10 feet behind me doing something totally unrelated to my path of travel and screeched the tires to a halt making me look like i wasn't paying attention. I could actually reverse towards a field of infants VERY fast and very accurately stopping within 1mm of said infants, but the car treats me as if I'm a grandma and can't see beyond 3 inches. It's embarrassing.

I was thinking today of putting vinyl wrap over the sensors or something cause the sensors are ridiculously sensitive. They should have the sensors not see past 5 feet. It seems like they see a mile.
