What to Expect Upon Delivery
Sorry, what I meant to say was that the Lexus app tells me that the software in my car is up to date. Is there a different way I should be checking?
The Lexus app also shows two "Vehicle Alerts". One is that there is a malfunction in the Tire Pressure Warning System, and another saying that there's a malfunction in the Vehicle Stability Control System. Any ideas on these messages? Thanks!
Contact the dealer and say you want a specialist to help you. The 450 is too new and too complicated for the sales people to know it yet, that is my experience, but if you say you want to make an appointment with the specialist they can find you someone who knows the car.
that said this is post Covid on a new model and many of the people at the dealership have never seen any other 450 other then mine.

My RCF dealership had a specialist booked to go through the vehicle with me on the delivery day.
My NX450 sales person did the job himself. Both said I can call or come back anytime for additional help.
However, these Lexus forums are the best place to get the "how-to" questions answered.
Congrats on your new 450.

You either got a new salesperson or just a bad dealership period. Most (not all) Lexus dealerships will go over every detail of your new vehicle unless you tell them otherwise. They usually also have new car bays where they do this for you so you're not out in the heat/cold as they review the vehicle with you.
It doesn’t sound like I worked with the best dealership. On the other hand, I was able to purchase at MSRP. I guess it was a trade off. But they are still making plenty of money on the sale, so I don’t think it should be like this.
I've always had them go over basically everything with me with a delivery specialist (not my sales) and takes about a hour.
Same thing with NX.. they already ask me to prepare for 1-1.5hr for delivery and there's a follow up appointment usually a month after delivery for them to do customization and followup of any wuesty/issues
This has been my experience in Ontario with like 3+ Lexus dealers . But I haven't taken a car delivery during covid yet so maybe that's changed a bit

My car was parked in the driveway of the dealership. It wasn’t even in a parking space, let alone a bay. It was hot out, and I kept feeling like someone was going to drive past us and accidentally take my door off because it was open (and salesperson was standing there).

The one month is the inspection service that allows personalization and inspection of the vehicle. I received a call from my sales associate a week after asking if there were any issues with the car and if I needed to book time with the delivery specialist if I had more questions.
The entire Lexus Delivery Specialist and Lexus Technology Specialist guild was created (and sponsored)
by Lexus Corporate back in 2011 to address the burgeoning level of sophisticated features. The 2010 model
year saw the debut of Lexus Safety Connect (the On-Star type telematic system), greatly improved Bluetooth
connectivity, speech recognition advances, USB ports, Hard Drive Navigation Data replaced DVD's and much
better resolution screens for Navigation and back up camera clarity. There have been generational steps since
then but none as dramatic as this recent 2022 transition to "The Lexus Interface". When it becomes properly
integrated the guest will just walk up, get in and the phone/car will open. start, call, find, configure, report everything!
OP and all, be assured the Lexus corporate pays each dealer for and expects its guests to receive a specific level of
involvement and interaction when taking ownership of a five (or six!) figure purchase. The survey itself includes the
question regarding the transaction procedures and did you get a proper orientation? The days of the old Three "C's"
delivery...see the car? see the door? see you later! are supposed to be a distant memory.

My Dealer delivery was cut short by me. Way too much info for a first time orientation. After 15 minutes I was already overwhelmed. Read the manual, played with a few things and then called the sale person for a few questions. Answered over the phone. Then a few weeks later dropped in to get a a few things re-done and answered a couple of more things. My dealer scheduled one hour for delivery and set-up...My brain only works in 15 minute intervals!
Lots to know on this model and I think it would be hard to remember everything in one sitting.
That being said they should at least spend some time with the customer covering basics and must know stuff.
Congratulations on your new NX, Enjoy!!
