What to Expect Upon Delivery
I picked up my very first Lexus yesterday — my NX450h+ finally arrived. I have had BMWs and most recently a Volvo, but since I’ve never gotten a Lexus before, I’m not sure if my expectations are unrealistic.
The salesperson had me download an Enform app (no idea what it’s for…I already had the regular Lexus app installed prior to my arrival at the dealership). She helped me connect my phone to the infotainment system. And that was it.
I have no idea how to use any apps. I have no clue as to how to use any of the features of the car. No services were set up, although I activated the free trials this morning on my own. When I got my BMWs, they always went through the car with me in great detail — how to customize settings, how to toggle between different screens, how to use features like park assist, etc. So is this something that Lexus doesn’t do? Do I just have to read the manuals and watch YouTube? Any suggestions would be appreciated as I’ve never had a PHEV or any kind of hybrid before.
Also, I noticed some pieces of plastic still stuck in the rear seating area, and also some kind of elastic string looped underneath the rear seating area. I feel like this should have been removed 🤷🏻♀️ Again, maybe I’m expecting too much?

I'm cross posting this from one of the general forums:

Well things have changed over the years. My first new Lexus in 2007 we probably had an hour long go over with the Tech and all stickers and what not were removed. We even received roses a week later followed by a monogram Lexus duffel bag and golf shirt and another week later a gift set with a Lexus money clip, pen, key chain and some other things.
2010 and 2014 our new cars we again had a go through with a Tech and the car had all the stickers and what not removed.
2016 (accident) and 2018 same reception and delivery.
However with Covid and the dealership being sold it changed. 2022 no Tech person on staff. Just the sales people. They were all new to the NX. The car was washed and brought out front with a big red bow (December). There were still stickers here and there and I had to pretty much figure out how stuff worked.

You either got a new salesperson or just a bad dealership period. Most (not all) Lexus dealerships will go over every detail of your new vehicle unless you tell them otherwise. They usually also have new car bays where they do this for you so you're not out in the heat/cold as they review the vehicle with you.
This is an incredibly detailed (124 min) video about the new NX. Watch it & you will probably know way more than your salesman.

I've had two Lexus' and although it's been a few years, the delivery process was thorough, indoors and comfortable. With more tech and features the delivery process becomes even more important IMO. I'd ask the dealership for a more thorough session. I agree with the OP that BMW Geniuses do a nice job at delivery. If you want, they'll schedule an Encore session a few weeks after delivery to go over any questions or issues.
When I picked up my 450h, my dealer had an delivery member to walk me through the features, install the Lexus App, help me setup profile, and ask if i had any questions. I actually decline some of it as I already knew a lot before I picked it up.
Your dealership just got doing the Lexus standard.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I will definitely watch the YouTube video, and then see if I still feel like I need to go back to the dealer for a walk through. They are a good 45 - 60 minute drive, so I'd rather not have to go back if it's not necessary.
A few things that I'm having trouble with so far:
- My phone starts to charge when placed on the wireless charger, but when I check on it a few minutes later, it's no longer charging
- My phone connected via wireless last night, but I can't get it to connect today
- When I turn off the car, I get a message telling me to check the rear seat. Check it for what?
I'm sure there will be a learning curve on getting used to a new car, but I'm feeling a little overwhelmed
I appreciate your help!

Check the back seat.
If you open a rear door before the drive there is a safety feature to remind you to check the back seat when you exit. I believe it is a child safety concept.
There is probably a way to disable, but maybe just knowing what it is helps.

One other question...I have the Lexus app, but the salesperson had me download Lexus Enform instead. When I run Enform, there is nothing there...it just tells me about the Lexus app. Do I need to keep the Enform app for something?
your sales person is uninformed. The Lexus Enform app is deprecated and replaced with the Lexus app. You can delete the Enform app.

I appreciate your help!If you are not able to connect, try to do a hard reset of your phone. Also check what version your Lexus interface is on. There was an update around the end of March that fixes some things. I hope that it would have come with the new version already.
Are you using an iphone 12 or 13?
