Default PPT Installation

I got full front 3M PPT installed including the headlights and mirrors for my NX350h for $1375. I am scheduled to get it applied to the door sills and the 14" display screen. Anyone else have experience with getting it installed on the door sills and display screen? I've read that it works well on display screens and the door sills will likely eventually get scratched up. I tried to find a screen protector for it but haven't found any available yet.

Did you get this screen protector? How is the fitting and responsiveness after applying this?

I'm still waiting for my 450h+ to arrive. I am on the fence if I should buy this or not. I have seen NX owners in Taiwan using it, but haven't seen any feedback.

This is my experience with using tempered glass screen protectors on capacitive screens. I have a Honda CRV (Waiting for my 350h Lux, 4 months to go). I applied it at the start of last summer, and it was great, the responsiveness was the same - did not feel worse, and the glossiness made it feel more luxurious, however it came with a major Achilles heel. The hot weather made the adhesive layer start to bubble, and before I knew it, the screen protector's turned to an unrecognizable mess. Sure, the tempered glass portion was great, the adhesive layer didn't tolerate the insane summer heat all that well. I removed the screen protector (the adhesive layer separated from the glass) and never put it on. There was no damage.
Another drawback is glare. The tempered glass screen protector introduced a lot of glare for me. It didn't have any sort of coating, so it was very hard to read with the sunroof open (even just the shade open, and the roof closed.
I doubt it will introduce parallax, as the glass is thin, and the LCD panel that the Lexus uses is optically bonded to the actual screen glass.

That being said, I did order one for my car - when it comes. As it's coming from China, it's anyone's guess what will arrive first - the car or the screen protector!

Thanks for your feedback on your experience with the CRV. I hope this one will be better?
I ordered one too and my ETA for the screen protector is March 20. It's much cheaper on this site as I found the same one on Amazon Canada selling 3x the price with the same ETA.

I hope your car arrives before the screen protector arrives. Mine should arrive before my vehicle, but it would be close as the ETA I received from Lexus Canada was end of March.

As a person who puts tempered glass screen protector on each and every mobile phone I own, I never find useful to do the same on my cars infotainment system. My current one has a 10 inches touchscreen and I have been using it for 4 years without any tempered glass screen. Sure, it gets smudged with fingerprints but not a big deal to remove with a microfiber thingy and it has no scratches on it. I cannot imagine a use case where this screen would be damaged if you only use your finger (as it will never be carried with keys in a pocket or fall from hands or table.
Cars interior can get very hot, and heat does weird things to the adhesive layer as described above...I would hate having to remove the adhesive from the screen
I would rather recommend a capacitive stylus, stashed somewhere if you do not want any fingerprints on your screen...

I had a screen protector for the Tesla I just traded in and it took no time to remove it without any adhesive to clean up. I am going to order one to see if I like it or not.

Thanks “lsft” for the link for the screen protector!

Depends on the screen as well - the main reason that I decided to put the tempered glass screen, and yes - every other device (iPad and iPhone uses a tempered glass protector) - is that the CRV-s screen isn't glass, it's plastic.
Sure, it's not a "cheap" plastic, but daily use out of it has resulted in scratches, not deep ones, but noticeable under light (from the sun).
Partly, this was caused from cleaning it with a microfiber cloth. As a certain youtuber would say - scratches at a level 3 with deeper groves at a level 4.

To speak to what you said, I completely neglected the fact that the NX's screen is glass - or at least I think it is. The limited driving time I had with it (about an hour for the NX 350/h together), did not afford me enough time to figure out the details, so I would be interested to know what material it uses.

In short - the only reason I purchased the screen protector is to prevent hairline scratches which are evident on my CR-V (and the Honda Civic before that), not smudges - those can be wiped off.

Thank you, I think that the NX screen is laminated glass. When I testdrived the car a couple of weeks ago, it felt (speaking of touch quality) pretty much as VW last discovery pro system which is capacitive and uses glass (and that is the system I use.
We don't have that much Hondas here in France so it never occurred to me that CRV screen as using plastic as external layer.

For anyone who is wondering, my screen protector arrived. I don’t yet have my car, but the screen itself is here.

arrived very securely packed in a styrofoam box from China.

Secured in styrofoam, also was wrapped in one of those shipping bags.

Comes with some cloths and a small suction cup

Standard glass screen protector. Seems well made.
