Default 18” run flat tires

Looking for any info owners with the 18” run flat tires have. Road noise? Ride comfort etc.
I’ve seen some folks say the 18”:ride quality better than the 20” but not sure if this refers to the run flat tires or not.
I have a 350h base model on order, but not wanting a car I plan to live with for several years be noisy etc. on the highway.
Thanks for any feedback on this subject.

They are not noisy so far and the ride seems fine. Having said that, I am not going to put run flats on when the tires need to be replaced.

Same here. Ride quality and noise is decent. Traction in light to moderate snow is average. Planning to replace them with Cross Climate 2s around 10k miles.

Waiting for my 350h with 18 inch wheels to be delivered. When the run flats wear out, or just before next winter thinking Of replacing them with the Michelin Defender LTX m/s. I know this tire works great on my Highlander but it weighs 4500 pounds. I have to research whether this light truck, SUV tire will be a good match for the 4080 pound 350h.

Do, not sure if you meant to post these good ratings in this thread, but since you did, what is the ground clearance of the 350h or any trim. Lexus does not seem to post it. Some car sites post 7.7 inches but the couple at motomouth said it was 7.3 inches. Do you or anyone know for sure?

If someone can tell me where I should be measuring from, I'm willing to go outside and measure. I have a 350h with 18".

Dibara, I found the specs on the Lexus Canadian website. It says the two gas NX are 7.7 inches and the 350h and 450h+ are 7.3 inches. I prefer the 7.7 inch in the 350h but it is what it is. I honestly don’t know where to physically measure the ground clearance but is kind of you to offer

As one other person mentioned - it may be due to wheel size. 18" vs 20".

Just want to ask here - are the 18" runflat as well? I've heard that they aren't. Only the 20" are.
I thought the whole reason that the 20" are runflat is to save weight by not including a spare tire, whereas the 18" are regular tires that are not runflat, and include a spare.

Definitely Runflats and no spare (or even jack) included. Runflats are alot heavier than regular tires so I think the rationale is more about saving money than weight.

I also think it is about making more money as run flats are not rated to last very long. Also it is more likely a tire with a nail in the run flat will not be repaired as easily because the conditions to repair are more stringent. This might force owners to buy more than one tire for the axle.

The 18 inch tires are run flats. The only 18 inch tires that might be regular tires and have a spare is the nx 250 according to a Canadian reviewer named motormouth on you tube.

Thumbs down RFT okay noise wise; replace with regular tires at 20K

Lexus is pretty quiet with RFT, Replace at 20 K with regular tires; then full Lexus quiet

The 250 in Canada does come with regular tires and a spare. Here's a clip from their spec sheet (couldn't find the same for the US models).

that’s where I got the spec from. I’m in Canada and the 18” are regular. Makes sense now. I ordered a higher trim in Canada, with. 20” and those are the only Canadian tires which are runflat.

Bridgestone Driveguards are a decent tire with runflat capabilities.
