Default Walk away lock

I was curious for automatic walk away lock setting in 2022 NX. Is it available so that once we leave the car, it locks automatically after few seconds? I know touching door handle area locks it instantly, but wondering if it can do automatically as well in case we forget to touch or press the key in fob.

Nope, not on any Lexus / Toyota that I'm aware of in North America.

Thanks for the confirmation.
Probably not a complex feature to implement since they already do some kind of proximity validation when driver arrives near the car and unlock.

I was hoping the auto lock walk away is available…that is something I can’t live without in my lowly Honda Civic

Yeah, that would be nice. I use the card key that you can keep in your wallet so that I don't have to carry the key fob. If I walk away without locking either by the typical inside lock button or tapping the notch on the exterior door handle, I just use the phone app. I even have the shortcut on my iPhone widgets screen and Apple Watch for easier access without going into the Lexus App

Apologies for my being an idiot, but I couldn't find a way to do this. Would you please provide the steps?

No apologies necessary!Make sure you have the Lexus App installed and set up. Check this out for steps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6S21RoEq2E&t=1338s

Once this is done, you should have Lexus shortcuts already set up in iOS shortcuts. To verify, in the Lexus App home screen, tap your Vehicle Name dropdown (might also display your VIN and Odometer) at the top left.

Scroll down and tap "Siri Shortcuts"...

...which should reveal Shortcuts like:

Remote Start... "Start my Lexus"

Remite Stop... "Stop my Lexus"

Lock Vehicle... "Lock my Lexus"

Unlock Vehicle... "Unlock my Lexus"

If you see these, you should be good. Just exit the Lexus app.

Now, for me, I added these to my iPhone's Today View. So, unlock your phone to get to your home screen, swipe Right, and you will see your today view. At the bottom, you should see an "Edit" button. Tap that which will shake your current widgets and also reveal a plus sign at the top left. Tap that and then search for "Shortcuts" and your various Lexus shortcuts should be displayed giving you the option to add which ever you prefer like the "Lock my Lexus" button

Now, if you are away from your car, you can just wake your iPhone and swipe right to quickly view shortcut widgets to lock your car.

This is what my Today View looks like:

Hope this helps!

I’m thinking about using the apple airtag to trigger lock & unlock shortcuts.

have you tried to use an AirTag yet as I think that would be a brilliant idea? Seems like it should work with the shortcuts mentioned earlier. I am very very curious as my parents have the autolock feature on there Cadillac and once you get used it to it, it is so hard no to think everything has it!

weird. I have an iPhone and my app definitely doesn’t have a Siri Shortcuts area. I double checked to see if app was updated and it is. Any thoughts?

We have this in NX450h+ sport in Switzerland. 2 buttons - close trunk and close trunk when walk away.

In the USA with Power Rear Door ( separate package or included with Premium or Luxury package) has the same close Rear Door and walk away with either just close or close and lock.

YMMV,

Not the same as walk-away lock, but since the '90s, Lexus has had where if you unlock your doors but don't actually open a door, it'll auto-lock after a period of time.
