Default When can I order?

I'm getting very frustrated with LEXUS. I called one dealer and they wont sell a 2022 NX to out of state buyers, then I'm told by a dealer no factory orders are being taken, then when I speak to the largest volume Lexus dealer in the US, they said that they will place an order. I am ready to buy today, cash or fiinance, havent decided. I just need to find a car. When can I place a factory order. I dont want an allocated build with useless options.

Also the configurator and dealer quotes are crap. I built a 2022 NS 350 AWD. Only want a Luxury and panoramic view monitor packages. No other options. Dealers are quoting their fully loaded in-transit pre-allocated cars with crap options. They are also charging for a power rear door when its included in the Luxury package according to Lexus.

My dealer won't take orders until the spring. Waiting game I guess.

I placed an order last week, they submitted it while I was there before taking my deposit. However - they did say it takes a week to be accepted by Lexus. They claimed this is normal regardless of current production shortages. I have my fingers crossed it gets accepted considering Toyota announced additional Lexus cuts on Friday.

The sales guy indicated that Lexus isn’t building RCs or LCs and they needed to put it all those folks on a list for when production starts up.

I’ll also say - there are a lot of dependent options. for example to add the luxury package to my FSport I needed to choose between the triple beam headlight package or the panorama sunroof. So depending on what your looking at - you might get other packages and options foisted on you.

The luxury trim requires a package that doesn’t show up on the spec sheet, headlight package, Mark Levinson Audio or pano roof.

the vision package requires the same missing package from above or the mark levinson package.

I assume the missing package is something that has the 14” display in it.

Did you get it for MSRP or less, or did you have to pay a premium.

They told me in writing that it would be MSRP and they won’t do any dealer installed add ons. However - they said they won’t know the official MSRP until it lands at the port in Houston and the port adds the port installed accessories (all weather mats and cargo net). This is apparently when the official window sticker is printed.

what I didn’t get about it is: what are the chances it changes from what the current pricing data on each package and accessory is.

So some guy at the dock says, "Frank, get ovah here, does this one get a first aid kit or not?" How do they not know everything on the car?

haha I’m not sure. I found it slightly shady but he assured me that’s just how it’s done. It comes with a window sticker from the factory and then whatever the port receiving center adds they reprint a new sticker and that’s the final MSRP.

Interesting. I've ordered cars in the past and it was all added up prior to me receiving the car.
