Heck, you can't even buy a simple inexpensive service manual anymore, Haynes does not make one for this car and the Lexus info site is too expensive for casual use.

Cars now days are not going in the right direction, you put it in drive and it backs up! :-)
But there is also a flipside to this. My recollection from the 1970s was that cars needed frequent oil changes and tune-ups and that you would probably still need to get a valve job after only a few years. And keeping a car more than 5 years was almost unheard of. So the complexity of today's vehicles has led to much better reliability and longevity.

Yea cars were cheaper back then and easily repaired.

They all had 2 and 3 year loans that were reasonable and easy to pay off in that period of time.

I guess you could argue that they were disposable after a few years, just buy a new one. That was then, not so much today.

Cars now days are 2 to 3 times more expensive than my first house I purchased in 1978!!!
