Default RSA on HUD only speed signs

Hi All,

My HUD only shows speed signs, no stop or give way or anything else. When a proper speed limit is not detected, it shows a speed sign with 2 dashes. Is this working as intended? Do you see anything other than speed limits in your HUD?

I have seen some videos where stop signs are displayed in the hud.

I see stop signs & school zones, etc. in mine, but I'm in Canada so perhaps there is a difference down under. BTW, was in your neighbourhood this past February, beautiful country!

Speed limit works for me as you described. School zones are about 50/50 and stop signs are about 20%. It is consistent, the places that show school zones and stop signs around town always do and the ones that don't never do.

You do realize for it to work, the signs have to be present (actually exist) and visible to the Lexus front facing camera So make sure your front camera lens are clean.

YMMV,

Plus others here in Canada and I would assume USA too, once their free Drive Connect map service is done, they lose the data provided by the embedded Google Map system. I would guess that's why I still receive the approaching school zone warning that pops up on my screen even though I never see a sign saying so. My subscription doesn't end on my '22 until November '25 so I still get speed displayed even though I haven't passed a sign for the front facing camera to read and display.

Our infamous You Tuber LSFT had his subscription expire earlier this year and he noted several features have stopped working as well:

The NX comes with a 3 year subscription to Drive Connect. You are still within your 3 year period. The people discussing the loss of sign recognition are equating it to the fact that they have had their NX more than three years and their free subscription to Dive Connect has ended.

YMMV,

It looks like Australia offers 3 years of drive connect service too, and you have a '23 model year so it should work for another year. Keep in mind it's called 'Connected Services' for a reason, it needs to be connected to cellular service to work. Without cellular signal your car will rely only on what the forward facing camera up by your rearview mirror at top centre of windshield, will need to capture a sign first and then determine what it says in order to display on your HUD. You could also go into your settings for HUD as well to make sure it's not set to minimal as well, that may be problem I'm not sure. So the gear symbol Settings then Vehicle Customize then Head Up Display and see if it's set on 'Full'.

Works pretty well in my ‘22. As “TheCDN” mentioned, check your settings. I’m not sure, but I think there is a RSA on/off setting under customization.

Default Validation

Unlike some forum users I actually like "Go Anywhere" , some call it "Drive Connect", but Lexus calls what used to be "Drive Connect", "Go Anywhere". It costs $15 per month plus tax. Without Go Anywhere you still get speed limit displayed on your dash and HUD. With Go Anywhere, in additional to speed limit, you get stops signs, school zones, etc. displayed on both the dash and HUD is you have custom option Road Sign Assist set to "Yes" and HUD, display mode set to maximum.

YMMV,
MidCow3

P.S.- My 3 year free trial just expired, before I reactivated I checked what was displayed - validation

So is Go Anywhere cheaper per month for you in the USA? It sounds like it offers everything Drive Connect offers. I get School Zones, Signs, I also get that voice that comes on and says 'Traffic Ahead' - not sure if that warning is tied into Drive Connect, but it's obviously using traffic data and see's that heavy traffic is present up ahead.

This isn't offered in Canada, I looked on Toyota site too not there either.
Lexus:
Services Complimentary Trial Period Pricing After Trial Period
Drive Connect 3 Years $19.95 month* (plus tax) = about $14.50 US
Remote Connect 3 Years. Features vary by vehicle $9.95 month* (plus tax) = $7.25 US
Safety Connect Up to 10 Years Complimentary with any paid subscription for another service
Service Connect Up to 10 Years Complimentary with any paid subscription for another service
SiriusXM 3 months

No different with Toyota:
Drive Connect 3 Years $19.95 month* (plus tax)
Remote Connect 3 Years. Features vary by vehicle $9.95 month* (plus tax)
Safety Connect Up to 10 Years Complimentary with any paid subscription for another service
Service Connect Up to 10 Years Complimentary with any paid subscription for another service
SiriusXM 3 months
