When you drove the car to see the battery charge go up in the first 12 minutes of the video was that City driving or did you get on the freeway at all during that drive? Re-watching it now I guess I change my question to what were the speeds you were driving I only ask because I was told to drive my car for a couple hours to charge the battery including some freeway driving.
The big news here is it only charged when you were at an incline in your driveway?
So it takes batteries you have to change the batteries in the unit like AA or AAA batteries? Or is the Ancel powered by the12 V battery?
That was local driving. Back then when I recorded the video, I did not know why it was charging and not at other times, but I've been observing the battery charging and think I know why that time it was charging. New video coming up soon as I'm working on a follow-up to that video. Originally Posted by LiBeRtAs

The ancel monitor is powered by the 12V battery.

I was under the impression that these were ultrasonic sensors to detect obstacles. Be very careful touching them…I heard that they’re over $200 each…4 in front, and 4 in back. Originally Posted by jelee

About the front camera, you’re correct. In addition to the camera in the front grille, there are also cameras in the rear view mirror cluster that support the lane keeping driver assist function.
I have them on my 2025 RX450h+, and while they’re very helpful, they can pick up a lot of dirt if you’re driving behind cars, that are spraying you with road salt.

The little dots on front and rear plastic bumper facias that are the size of a quarter and painted the colour of the car are ultrasonic sensors. They're pretty robust to a point. I wouldn't hit them with anything but you can certainly scrub them clean with a car brush or a rag.
I think there's a black coloured sonar sensor under each side mirror as well as a camera lens there too. They are used to assist in those pesky electric door openers so they will see a car or pedestrian approaching and prevent the door from opening and sound an alarm. Also parking assist cameras and possibly for the lane keep assist.
Plus a camera lens below L Lexus emblem in front, the emblem contains a radar sensor used for lane trace assist, smart cruise control, obstruction detection to prevent a collision too. A rear camera is present inside car behind rear glass up near the top of the wiper sweep area, it's used for electronic rear view mirror.
One last camera is outside on the rear hatch, above licence plate, used for backup camera. Note that if this camera becomes dirty you can activate rear wiper washer and it will spray washer fluid on camera lens too. Helpful in winter when this can get really dirty and you need to see when backing up.
There's also a kick sensor under rear bumper that senses your foot to open the hatch hands free too.
I'm sure all of these sensors are used for multiple purposes and work in harmony with each other to create Lexus 3.0 Safety System features.
