2025 NX350h Fuel Type
With the cost of vehicles today I pretty much pay attention to manufacturers recommendations on fuel. I say pretty much because Ford says my Mustang GT w/486bhp only needs 87 Oct! Only an idiot would believe it would get its best performance using that Oct level. I use 93 in it. Just because an Oct is recommended doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to get its best performance using it. Just means it probably won’t ping when using it. If I had a long daily commute it might make a difference but since I don’t I don’t mind putting 93 in any of my vehicles.
I live near the US / Canada border with an Indian Reserve just across in Lewiston NY. They have E0 (non-ethanol fuel) which is available which is rated as 90 octane.
When we get our NX450 h+ in early February we will driving within the EV range most days, so fill ups will be few and far between. I plan on keeping the tank filled with the E0 as it offers a couple of advantages, including; improved gas mileage, reduced engine damage risk, and a shelf life of up to 6 months, whereas E10 (87 (regular), 89 (mid-grade), or 91-93 (premium)) apparently go stale in 3 months.

Hi neighbour!
I live in Niagara and pop over to get fuel in US too when I'm going over to do some grocery shopping or picking up packages at a mail service we use over in Niagara Falls NY. I usually go over quick with my Nexus pass and if I've bought something I return via Rainbow bridge. Gas at the Seneca Casino is usually the cheapest BUT I don't believe any of the reservation gas stations in the area are high quality detergent gas, so I'll mix it up with a stop one time at the Casino and the other at a name brand station.
I also use this website which quickly lets you compare gas pricing in Canadian dollars. It's still about 15-17% cheaper to buy gas in US, even with our poor dollar!
