Help!! Password required after 12v battery replacement
Hi everyone,
Hoping you can all help, as the dealer is unsure!!
Partner had the 12v replaced in a 350h, as it went flat. Immediately after, it came up with the following message:
‘Enter privacy lock password. Please enter your current privacy lock password’.
My partner doesn’t ever recall setting one up previously. Videos online haven’t helped. Does anyone know what to do??
Please note: We are in Australia (not sure if that matters).

Sorry, I can’t help with your specific question, but in the US shops have what is commonly called a “keep alive”. It’s a small battery that plugs into the OBD port to keep the vehicle from losing all its settings if the battery is removed. For instance, it makes sure your radio favorites, etc. aren’t lost.
I’m not familiar with hybrids, but it sounds like your personalizations were lost once the battery was removed. Not sure it would have prevented what you are experiencing, but in the future you may want to give it a try.
Hoping you can all help, as the dealer is unsure!!

try this if it’s not completely locked up
navigate to your “Account settings” > “Security Settings" > “Reset PIN.”
Just FYI for future reference, the "Privacy Lock" feature can be disabled in the Vehicle settings. The purpose of it is to prevent anyone accessing your personal info (addresses, contacts, etc) off the infotainment system should it be removed from the vehicle (and as a consequence, when power is lost to the system as well).
We had this after our battery went flat, over 2,000 miles from home. Lexus UK told us a code to reset it but it did not work. We were then told we had to go to original dealer. Rang them and were told we had to bring the car in. Over 2,000 miles and a ferry crossing. When we eventually got there it was a 2 minute job. We believe it was an attempt to keep servicing our car. Needless to say we will not use that dealer again.
