Default Android Auto with NX350h

This might be a weird question but between Google maps and Waze, I much prefer Waze for my directions. Does anyone know how/if you can cast/mirror the waze app onto the navigation screen when using Android Auto?

One small feature I like about Waze is the different voice actors you can set to give directions from. Just wish I could get it to do that over the main vehicle speakers. If anyone knows how, I'd be interested to hear. I find it oddly amusing to have my directions given to me by Jack Black (Kung Fu Panda) along with his side quips

Waze is present in Android Auto. You do not have to do anything. On your car screen tap the multi-dot button in the left bottom corner and find Waze. If for whatever reason it is not on the list, go back to your phone and add it to the list.

I assume that if I use Waze or any directions app outside of the Lexus infotainment one that the turn by turn HUD notifications won't work, correct? Or is there a way to get that setup as well.

I am not sure about Waze since I use Google Maps. I noticed that if you use Lexus native navigation then all directions are shown on HUD, but if you use Google Maps then the directions are shown on the small dashboard display next to the current speed. I assume Waze works the same way.

I am using Waze on the big car screen (2022 NX350H F Sport). The way I do:
* connect phone to the car using USB cable;
* from the given applications (not all applications will be visual) select Waze;
* use it!

The only small downside from it - google maps from the phone will tell you the direction loud (I just low the phone volume down)

I always wanted a navigation voice that would get progressively more angry with me if I didn't follow her directions (kind of like my wife). I'll admit that I'm easily amused!

I can confirm that directions are shown on the HUD when using CarPlay. I know that’s not what you have, but maybe there’s a setting somewhere?

Waze is the same as Google Maps.
