Default Low Tech Theft Deterrent

Looks like there is a new way to steal the NX as a Forum member who posted from Canada describes what just happened to him:

They entered the car by breaking the rear window. Then it appears that some panels and wiring was pulled apart at the front-passenger side footwell to take control of the vehicle.”

He didn’t even get a notice when the window was smashed.

Thieves will continue to stay one step ahead of car security, that is just life. But I am wondering who has installed some low tech stuff such as a club or break lock, and which brands you like?

I use a car cover with locks. Course it can be cut off, but again, it’s another step for a thief who may not even know exactly which vehicle is under it initially.

No gadget will prevent all sophisticated thieves obviously, but you never know if the visibility of those type of devices might do to deter.

I have a steering wheel lock mainly to deter joyriders and those not serious thieves. Mine has a combination lock as there are many videos on Youtube depicting how easy it is to drill out a keyed lock. But as you state, pros will likely have tools to cut the bar, either bolt cutters or a battery operated cutting tool. So if they want it, they'll get it.

I saw a car theft attempt where the steering wheel had The Club. The steering wheel was removed and replaced. The wheel with the club was on the floor. The car had a kill switch that prevented hot wiring. I think most thieves use a tow truck
