Default Issue Downloading Digital Key

I never had any problems with my digital key since I bought the car in Jan 2024, until now.
I am recently having issues downloading the digital key from the Lexus app.
I surmise it might have something to do with me recently upgrading my iOS version to v16.7.6. Whether this was the cause or just coincidental, I am not sure.
This is the error I get when I tried downloading the digital key:

Since it indicates to check iPhone charge, I have tried downloading while plugged in and not. Image also shows 84% charge state which should be more than enough to support a download.
Anyone else having this issue? Several attempts netted same error message.
Open to any suggestions, advice, or recommendations that I could try. TIA.

I had the same problem on Android, digital key disappeared and could not get it back. I cleared the app's data, forcing a fresh logon, all well after that.

Thanks for the tip Andy. That fixed the problem for me!
I just had to delete the Lexus app along with all the data, then re-download the app and relogin.
It retained all my settings so I didn't have to redo all the config again.
The digital key download went ok after that.
Much appreciated!

I had the same problem as well with digital key error, at first I thought that is was the problem with my iPhone, then after a while I thought that it is iOS issue after the update, and I was waiting for fix and waiting and waiting... Thanks to your help, and after I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, everything is working now, and even better than before haha the things that didn't work previously now working

i also have a jan2024 nx350h. And this is constantly happening to me. The only fix is to delete and reinstall the app. Yes you don’t lose all the settings once downloaded again but it just a nuisance to do the entire process over and over again.

Fortunately, for me, once I got it activated it's now working consistently (knock on wood).
Although I noticed that the digital key goes through some kind of refreshing process constantly.

Default Digital Key logic

I have the Digital Key on my iPhone. Unfortunately when I have the phone in my pocket, my 450h+ wants me to open the Lexus App before I can open the door or start the car. The kick sensing tail gate is the same. Unless my set up is incorrect, what is the point of a Digital Key. Why not just carry the key fob?
Thank you.

I took delivery yesterday. The dealer tech told me the server might be down when I could not download the digital key. I deleted the APP and then re installed it. Nope. Just have to wait for next Monday to see if any of their IT people will restart the server.

Anyway, I agree with you: what is the point of having this digital key -- IF, even from the Leuxs customer service rep - you have to/better carry the real key FOB with you in case the APP is not working... I will NOT only carry the APP digital key then leave home, then have to call home to bring a spare key FOB??

It might be good to be able to unlock, lock, and check the status of the car --- but can someone tell me how the APP communicates with the car? If I am shopping in the store and it is out of the Bluetooth range... Will the App be able to communicate with the car??? (I have to try it - today is only the second day busy setting up Dash Cam and garage door opener etc.)

I believe you can be in a different country and use your app and it will work, it is communicating with vehicle through internet I think.

I did not have any issues at first, and everything was setup at the dealership with tech person, then three month later I started having issues, I guess after update, then I removed and reinstalled the app, and everything start working again. So it is intermittent issues, you never know when it will stop working haha and you never know what is the issue, it work for some does not work for others, some fixes issues for some, does not do anything for others

That makes sense. I tried last night when I was 2 miles away from the car, and it worked (to lock, and unlock the car).

Checking the car sticker and found this:
"... requires remote connect subscription - 3Yr Trial included. 4G network dependent"

So inside the car they have a cellular SIM to communicate through cell phone tower I believe to connect to the internet.

I am not sure if I will lose this function after 3 years as it is "3Yr Trial Incld.)

If you are home, you can communicate with the car with your wi-fi. If you are away from home, you must be close to the car enough to use Bluetooth. I have not tried to control the car while it is away from my phone. My Tesla does that what Tesla is constantly communicating via cell or satellite. Not sure Lexus does that. My bottomline is I do not want to drive the car with just the digital key. I think that is why Lexus call the App a trial. Kinda of disclaimer. Don't blame them if you are stuck.

I'm in Aruba and my '22 NX350h is in Canada in my garage ( at least I'm assuming so since I haven't received any alerts ). App's working fine on my phone both while out and about using cellular and on wifi. I believe your vehicle uses cellular service exclusively to communicate to the Lexus App, so if your car can't get cell signal you're fuggered. Hence one of the reasons your connection is on a 3 year free trial (cellular) service lexus maps etc. other services are for 10 years (in Canada anyways). It does use both bluetooth and then wifi to use wireless Apple CarPlay though. So in order to allow Apple products to use wireless CarPlay you car will communicate with both bluetooth and Wifi.

That is true. I would think (1) when you and the car is far away than the Bluetooth range, it will use Cellular (3-yr trial); (2) when you are close enough within Bluetooth range, the App might prefer Bluetooth.

Either way, I will not ONLY carry the APP / digital key with me. Even if you go to the gym or swimming pool, wherever you can put/store/lock your phone, you might be able to put the key FOB there as well (or the credit card key).
