Default What is "Privacy Lock"?

Under my vehicle settings under "Privacy & Security", there is a toggle for "Privacy Lock" right after Vehicle Name. Can anyone shed some lock on what this does?

If you press on it it will explain what it does, I do not remember the details, but you basically would put a password for something.

It does give me a popup mentioning I will need a password if the head unit is disconnected, or something like that, but does not explain what it does. Didn’t want to continue past that warning without understanding it.

Quoted from the manual:

Enable the password-protected security lock to protect personal information. When set ON, entering the password
will be required when the 12-volt battery is replaced or the multimedia system is removed from the vehicle.
