I notice the App updated recently (at least for Android). After poking around with it, I think its an improvement. The old app seemed to have so many sliding windows that were almost hidden and lacked some intuitiveness. Some features really had to be stumbled over. The new version does still have some sliding window parts, but I think they reorganized the layout a bit to make it better.
Trying to remember, did the old version provide fob battery health like this new version? The Health section looks to be a bit more complete, or perhaps just better laid out. The tire pressure display seems to be a bit easier to get to as well. The subscriptions feature I think is also laid out a bit better. I didn't look at it much on the old version, but I recall it being not very informative. Also, "Vehicle Software", is that new? I don't recall seeing this before. I wonder if its just referring to the infotainment system, or any vehicle software that might be available. Could we be so lucky as to know automatically if there are engine or transmission control software updates? Hmmm. Is lock/unlock trunk new? Another thing I've not used before but wasn't sure if I just never noticed it.
The update did delete my digital key, have to install that again (second time now). Its very clear they don't intend you to rely on the digital key, best used for moving car in the driveway only unless the idea of having your key vanish from your pocket without notice stokes your sense of adventure

I’m on CarPlay, and I very rarely take my keys with me. The app almost always starts and stops my car perfectly. in the very lowercase that digital key is not recognized. I just force close the app and restart it.
That said, if I’m going more than 10 miles away, I will take my key just in case.
Noticed both my iPhone app and the one on my iMac updated recently too. On the phone app, the 'Shop' tab bottom right of home page now has plenty of information about all the connected services and subscriptions, just keep scrolling right to see them all. And when you click on the 'Learn More' buttons the page looks almost identical to what the Lexus website pages look like. Actually I think it's interfaced with the web pages to be honest, up top it reads lexus.ca for me (I'm in Canada). I don't remember all that info available on the app before.
The app on my computer is still a little simpler than the one on the phone, not sure why they've done that, but there's a little more features than before. For my devices at least, when first opening up the app it would take some cajoling to get it to update the stats like mileage and distance to empty. Now it's quite fast.

Actually, that seems to have worked. After the update my digital key was gone and also the climate control settings for remote start were missing as well. I restarted my phone and both starting working. I notice the digital key no longer provides any visual feedback that it has connected (it use to show a red bluetooth symbol when out of range, and a blue (I think) BT symbol when in range. I was just trying it out trying to unlock my doors and it wasn't indicating anything (and it be honest I was still questioning whether the digital key was actually present), but I grabbed the handle and the door unlocked so I guess it is working. I too generally have good luck with the digital key, but yes, it occasionally requires a virtual hammer to get it to work. Its still way more effort than simply carrying a fob in my pocket.
Thanks for the heads up on this update! It does seem better laid out and less laggy/buggy. The prior version was unusable at times, and I hated that background app permission message you had to hit "confirm" on every time you opened the app. Now there is an option to "do not ask again" which is great.
In the previous app I would frequently get a "remote command failed" message if I tried to remote start the car. After the update yesterday morning, I went to remote start my NX and got the same "remote command failed". I tried it again leaving work later in the day and it worked just fine. I had high hopes for the update that it would be more reliable, but I will keep an eye on it.
I had a brain fart today and thought I'd go take a look in the Apple App Store to see what info they had for the Lexus App update. Here are my screen shots below for your perusal:
Funny how the update versions went from 2.1.15 all the way to 2.5.0 . There's no 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 listed? Anyways, I think most of the new features can be found by taking a tour within the mobil app. Although I didn't see any mention of smartwatch features within the app on my phone.
I have a green check mark next to the FOB Battery is that what you have or is it showing something else like a percentage charge? I'm on an iPhone.
I have a iPhone, and installed the latest update, but I don’t have the FOB Battery indicator or the “horn” option on the remote actions page. Is that because I don’t have “ advanced park?” Im missing horn and park (since I don’t have advanced park I’m not surprised, but I’ve never had horn, even after the update)

Ah, the mystery of version numbers. I'm still looking for my copy of Windows 9, LOL. 3rd level incremental versions are usually just bug fixes. 2nd level version numbers are typically used for minor changes or slightly updated features. Jumping to a X.5 release usually indicates the developer's felt it was a significant update but still within the framework of the existing version. They probably spent almost as much time deciding on the version number than the actual work on the software.
I do notice that my favourites, recents, and work/home locations have finally started to show up in my app again. It took days for this stuff to show up and for the first couple days none of this worked at all. Baby steps I guess.
