Total Average Fuel Economy dropping while idling

Default Total Average Fuel Economy dropping while idling
Hi all,

I noticed that my average fuel economy is dropping while idling. If I remote start my car, it drops about 1 MPG. Even when the car is warmed up, if I’m in my car parked, it is dropping. Is this normal? I’ve been idling for about 25 minutes and it dropped like 38.5 to 35.6.

Yes it is normal, using fuel when the car is not moving means you are getting 0 mpg that if factored into the average.

Ive been driving this for about a year. I cannot believe I have not noticed this!

I am truly flabbergasted with this thread

I am more into hyper mileage pulse and glide
