500 Days still waiting for a call, wtf, Caviar/Rioja Executive NX 450H+

 

Assuming a Hybrid. If it were me... no way I am waiting 2 years for a car. Too many other great cars out there.

NX 450H+ I was told 12 - 14 months originally, I think they are stringing me along..

Definitely. Back then 12 months was the waiting period for just a 350H. I was told 2 to 3 yrs for the plug in, and I wasn't even willing to wait the 1 yr for the regular hybrid, so after 15 yrs at the wheel of a hybrid, I now drive the gas turbo. Not unhappy at all though, its a great car. I do occasionally remind myself (perhaps somewhat jealously not having the h+) that the advancement in electrification of cars is accelerating so rapidly these days that all the current models will be completely obsolete in a short time, much faster than gas cars (and no, I'm not going to listen to anyone besmirch my turbo, la la la, not listening, can't hear you). Just wait another 4 yrs and pick up a used 450h+ for $2000

 

BIL ordered an NX350h Ultra Premium package in late July. Took delivery today.

 

I take it you’re in Canada? Here in the US (No CA) very few people want the plug-in because it costs a lot more and is not eligible for rebate. Local dealer charges $3k markup for hybrid and $0 for plug-in. And they are still sitting on the lot.

 

Here in south Florida. The mark up on a 450 Plug In is 10K. And they fly off the lot

You can probably get a 350h in about 3 -5 months now. Or less.

I think the PHEV in Ontario is about $3K more, if available without dealer markups.

 

My 2019 Lincoln Nautilus is losing value while I wait so hoping it does not go on too much longer...

 

Very, very strange. When the NX was first released and it qualified for the tax rebate, local dealer markup on plug-in was $10k and hybrid was $5k. Back then gas prices were higher too. It is now $0k for plug-in and $3k for hybrid. I guess the rebate going away and a drop in gas prices did it. Our gas is around $5.50-$6 a gallon now. It was at around $7 back then. My guess is they would drop even the $3k if gas prices were to drop further, but that is unlikely.

 

Lexus of Beverly Hills are discounting $3K on the 450H+. On the 350h,m some unpopular color (Redline) are discounting $2.2K, other colors are at MSRP.

 

In S. Cal, Lexus of Beverly Hills are discounting some 450h+ and even 350h.

 

That sucks. I got my NX 450h+ after a 14 month wait but I sweetened my offer by buying optional extras. Also had a trade, a very high mileage but rare 2010 RAV4 Base V6 with three row seating. Didn’t get the exterior colour I originally wanted (Atomic Silver) and took what was offered (Eminent White Pearl) but definitely liking the colour now. When I took delivery of the NX, I had also been on a wait list for the RAV4 Prime for two years without any word when I’d get it. I consider myself lucky to get my NX in just 14 months by buying extras and being flexible about colour. YMMV.

 

At $92,000 screw being flexible I want what I ordered also I ordered the lighting package which adds another $1000, so not sure why I can't get a eta.
