Catalytic Converter Protection
Greetings from a pleased '23 450h+ owner...
We have to park outdoors in an urban neighborhood & ace concerned about catalytic converter theft. I'm seeing some say it's difficult to access here in the forum & here for example.
Do I need to consider a guard? If so, I can't seem to find any except one for the RAV4 Prime at Cat Shield here, would this work since the platform is the same?
The CatGuard sticker etching label doesn't seem to be worth $24 & the local police VIN etching seems like a pain + not that effective.
Appreciate your thoughts, now onto deciphering the subwoofer thread & think about improving the awful sound system.

I live in a bad area and park out side. Have not had catalytic converter stolen in 18 months. If this thing fits/work, it would be something I would consider after a catalytic converter got stolen the first time. I would not put anything on until a successful theft occurred because if it never gets stolen, you have just wasted money. I am a data analyst and consider time to event and risk in my research. In this case, while the perceived risk may seem to be high, if you never have a successful event (a theft) the actual risk is zero.

It is my understanding that unlike many other cars where the cat is underneath the car and relatively easy to access, in the NX the cat is under the hood tucked right by the exhaust manifold at the back of the engine. It is a lot harder to get at, and likely can't be cut out from underneath. Its probably easier to take the whole car.
