Default How to clean interior headliner?

Hi all,

I just got back from having some work done on my vehicle (23’ NX 350h) and Lexus left a bunch of marks/stains on my ceiling headliner and handles. What should I use to clean and remove these marks? Thanks all!

I'd let them know about it. However look into a professional first class detailer to clean it up if Lexus won't assume responsibility

I would use the Service Manager. No kidding, if they smudged it up, they should have to clean it.
Unfortunately I'm not sure if there is a difference between our models as I have the 23 450H+. I really haven't ever tried to clean the headliner in the past. But I would contact the Service Manager and see what they want to do about it. If he says NOTHING, then I'd ask for the Body Shop and ask them. I know there is a material with foam and a lot of glue. I would be afraid to put chemicals on it in fear of damaging it. But I would ask them for sure.

Sorry this isn't a solution but hopefully the Service Manager can assist.

I am looking at their website, and they don't have any service managers.. only advisors. Who should I go to then?

Microfiber cloth + mild soap and water.

Call and ask for the Service Manager. There is one that is in charge of the department. They may not be listed but rest assured, some one is in charge of that Service Center. You could even contact the Service Advisor that helped you with your car. They would know all about your visit and maybe they can assist.

Someone suggested Microfiber and Mild Soap. That might work but don't use a wet microfiber, only damp and maybe like a hand soap. It is more mild than Dawn Dish Soap. It's pretty tough. But don't scrub too hard.

I agree with what others said about having the dealer do it. But to your question of how you can you do it, a good chunk of years ago I had the same thing happen with my wife's Mazda light colored headliner so I bought the Genuine Mazda Fabric Cleaner. It's a spray can. Works great. So much so I've used it on every car since and I still have it. It's amazing how often the techs will grab the window area entering and exiting and leaving marks. Mostly have had black headliners on my cars but my wife most often has lighter colors and this stuff is phenomenal. Easy to use. Been full proof for me. I'm sure you can get the same thing or similar from other car brands or even for non-car fabrics.

Why take it back to the same place that caused the problem you could drive away with even more problems.

Because they did the damage and they should fix it for free.

Have a different tech or the detail dept work on it. I hate that slop. We had an A6 with a light interior given back to us with grease prints on headrest and back of seat.

The service advisor contacted me and I pretty much went off. She said to bring it in on Monday. How ****ing pathetic tbh. I leave my car for a week and then she asks me to drop it off on Monday? For another how many days? Should I go even further and call and ask for the manager? So annoyed.

Do a nice Yelp and Google review. Unless they heartfelt make good leave the review. How about if they send a detailer to your house at your convenience(yea right)

They should come and get it and leave a loaner.
