windshield crack
UPDATE. The update is there is no update. I was to get a call from corporate in 3-5 days. It's been 3-5 days. The least they could do is say the windshield shipment has been expedited. I could use some hot air blown up my rear end. But they do Understand My Frustration...... that makes me feel better. I realize Lexus is not the only vehicle that has a parts shortage problem...Also realize I'm sorry I bought it.
Have a friend with an Audi...same problem. No glass.
Most new rides do not have a spare. Do not want the same situation.
It's my wife's ...she likes the dimensions/features. We bought it for a reason.
Nothing excites me other than the GV70 3.5
Biggest issue... it will be stored from Oct-June with a cracked windshield. The dealer will not store the glass until we return so we'll have to start again.
Delivered July 5...out of commission since Sept 1st. 1100miles.
I was just sharing what KBB said. I, agree with you 100%. I’d much rather trade my car in and let the dealer be responsible for any issues. There are also the safety and fraud issues one could experience when doing a private party sale.
I’m accepting the fact service and parts are a disgrace. Aside from that nobody got back to me after several calls and emails. The love is lost. The fun is gone. I bought a Lexus 2x .. that’ll be first and last time. I apologise for the negative posts. Just simply my reviews & experience after 1100 miles. Enjoy yours while it’s intact. After that it’s a dead duck. You’ll need a detective to find parts.

Welcome to the new normal. The last 20s were called the "roaring 20s", but we'll call this decade the "waiting 20s". Just do a google search on slow car repairs due to parts shortage. You'll get a huge list of articles pretty much touching every major automaker about many weeks, often many months of delays getting repair parts over the last few years. Toyota seems to be mentioned often but I suppose that's the price of being (one of, if not the) largest manufacturer so much greater chance of them being in accidents simply by volume. But we can also express sympathy for the Tesla owners that went without their cars for 6 to 9 months waiting for parts, or Chevy Bolt owners that were told to park their cars for months, sometimes over a year because of replacement battery issues. And all those Hyundai drivers that waited for new engines and hoping their old ones don't burn down their car (and garage and house) while they wait. Oh, and the whole killer air bag debacle that took years to get replacement parts across a number of manufacturers. The list goes on and on...

I put a lot of German luxury cars in the same category as a Tesla roadster. Awesome cars to drive and have when newer, but when they get older for best longevity the best thing for them is to be put on top of a very powerful rocket and launched into an orbit out past Mars for a few million years.
