Applying tinted decal over front emblem
Does 2023 NX350h mount any sensor behind the emblem so that adding any insert will hinder its functionality. I also want to add the same decal on my own 2019 UX
If you’re referring to the front Lexus logo, that is the millimeter wave radar. It’s standard on the NX. It works in conjunction with the camera on the windshield to ensure systems such as dynamic radar cruise control and frontal collision avoidance emergency braking function as intended. The manual warns against anything covering the radar, but a thin plastic protective film should be perfectly fine (it does scratch easily). Personally I’d be wary of covering it with anything since crucial systems rely on it. But you can try it and see—I’d assume it would throw an error message if something was amiss.

Yes, the 2019 UX will also have the millimeter wave radar.
This is a post from a rav4 about a similar decal and some potential issues with it. The Rav4 uses the same radar on the front logo as Lexus does. But, covering it is definitely a thing that people do since there’s many of them out there. It’s just your mileage may vary on what issues you face, if any at all.

My suggestion would be to make sure it’s completely smooth with no abnormal bumps or folds on the decal. I’m not an engineer by any means but I’d think having any fixed protrusions could cause issues with the radar.
