Default Is it the weather??

So picked up the car 2 weeks ago, and did my thorough inspection. All was well.

Today, after parking the car at the work parking lot (4-5 hrs) .. the first thing I saw after getting back into the car was this

No hit and run and nothing.. it seems like it was just the heat ??

What to do next ?

You should re title your thread to “rear view mirror” so later others can search and find the issue for help.

Well that’s no good. I doubt the heat would do that. These cars are baking in the sun during transport and then continue to bake while they’re waiting at the dealers. My guess is it’s some mount/bracket/notch thing that’s come loose, perhaps through driving or adjusting the mirror. Regardless it’s not your fault, just take it into the dealer and they should be able to fix it. It’s covered under warranty.

That's not good. Another interior trim issue. See this thread:

Is your car from Japan or Canada? I wonder if your dealer messed withthe wiring. Or it was somehow jostled during transport.

Just dropped it at the shop for services. I hope this will be the only issue.

Looks like an assembly issue. The cover can easily be clipped back.

Thank you for pointing it out! I really should. Do you know how I can edit the tile of the post?

Hi LSFT!

Your videos are awesome.. actually the reason why we ended up getting a NX!

So, I ended up calling Lexus on the Park, and the service team told me to come in right away to have it looked it. Since the car was "freshly" built, they suspect that one of the lock/snap/whatever that held the pieces together was not locked into place properly so it just "snapped" out.

Anyways, the fix was fast and simple, and they didn't need to put it into the book. The tech used the tool to put the piece back together, and made sure everything was locked in place properly.

Having said that, the ride has been great so far coming from subaru impreza, and for my first tank of gas, I am at about 450 km, and still got close to 300 km to go, and the mpg is averaging 6.7-8 km atm.

I have seen a few issue such as the PIN showing up a few times (which I suspect is a software problem, and also connection), but it has not been a big bother, I have tried both resetting, and presing "x", however I don't believe it solves the root problem, so I will ask Lexus at my first 2k service.

Other than that.. the Canadian build quality has been better than expected.. hopefully this is going to be the only thing that I have issue with regarding "build". The overall alignment of the car has been good as mentioned in LSFT's last comparison video.

Not the weather and it didn't come like that from the factory!lol
Did they install a dash cam, radar detector ,Lojack or something up there at the dealership?Somebody was in there after it was built !
I can see in your pics what looks like USB or camera cables hanging out of there. I just had mine apart a couple of weeks ago and those are not supposed to be there. You/they just push it up to engage the clips after the wires are inside . No special tools.

Thank you for the feedback on my videos. I guess I should go to Lexus on the Park and ask for a referral fee 🤣🤣🤣

Hope that is the only thing that is not right. Try to press and hold the power/volume button and let the infotainment reboot. Hopefully that will solve the problem. Also check what version of the infotainment you have. Did you reset your phone as well? Sometimes your phone is the cause.

hah! Totally!

Funny enough, I went to almost every single Lexus within Toronto, and ended up getting mine at Erin Park. However, I do like the vibe and atmosphere at On the Park. Also, fun ffact, the tech told me that if you requested, any Lexus dealership suppose to help you replace the battery of your key for free.. ahaha

You are right! I did have a USB - C cable on the other side. However it does go the opposite way, so it does not have any contact with the back mirror housing at all.

I will be putting up the camera over the next few days. I will post picture of the car soon once I get all the stuff in place
