The glass itself should have some text in the corner with words such as laminated or acoustic, or a letter 'a' to help distinguish the type used.
Those layers mean the glass is laminated. All acoustic glass is laminated, but not all laminated glass is acoustic. The difference is in the type of membrane used between the 2 layers of glass.

What is the difference between acoustic and laminated glass?
Acoustic glass is a little different than laminated glass. Instead of the PVB interlayer, acoustic glass contains a special resin as an interlayer in between two sheets of glass. Like laminated glass, it looks just like a normal pane of glass – you can't tell the difference just by looking at the edge.
I'm not really sure. Since January 2022 I have been searching everything online and can't find anywhere that Lexus even says. They do for the ES model, my 2021 ES300h Ultra Luxury was advertised as having acoustic glass. It even says it in the brochure and on the Lexus website. But for the NX it is silent. The dealer I purchased from didn't know, but there are a lot of things they don't know I've learned over the years.
I used to own a glass repair franchise and learned most of the codes in the glass. I sold out in 2014 and I don't remember if there was acoustic glass back then, I believe it is newer technology.

My guess is that it’s just laminated and not acoustic. BMW use to offer acoustic glass as an option on the X3 and X4 back in 2019-2020 it was like a $300-$500.00 option and they called it acoustic glass. I read many owners could tell the difference. BMW stopped that option in 2021 and up.
I bet it’s more expensive to add that layer into the glass that makes it acoustic.
If anyone finds out about the NX post it.
Did the 1st gen NX get acoustic glass or just laminated or neither?

The NX windshield and front window glass are supposed to be laminated acoustic glass but the markings on the bottom right indicate Lamisafe, if they were laminated acoustical you would think "acoustic" would be listed. The rear door windows and hatch window are tempered glass.

The MotorMouth Youtube review comparison between the NX350h and the RX350h says (in the first 2 minutes of the video if you want to see it) that they both have windshield and front door windows with Acoustic glass.

That's what my post states, yes it's laminated but is it laminated acoustic-----------------------you cant tell the difference by looking at the edge. The NX windshield and front driver and passenger door glass is "supposed" to be laminated acoustic glass but there's no indication on the bottom right of the glass that it's acoustic, just laminated.
Made some updates.. more money in the hole. There is ALOT of misconception about the run flats. I spent another $1k and got some "quiet" all season cooper tires, STILL noisy. Its mostly the car that's noisy, not the tires. Think the engineers were drunk at the time as you can see the fenders are crooked. Not even an ARC. How difficult is it to take a circle and cut it in half? They also forgot to put noise cancelling tech under the vehicle and especially around the wheel area. The NX is definitely not a luxury vehicle. You have to spend another 2k to get it sound proof, then another 1k on a tire package. Had alot of potential but very disappointing.
