I been here since 2012, and hard wired (mirror tapped) a Lexus ISF, a bunch of RX 350's, and two GX 460's. This thread helped a ton on a 2023 NX. The newer cars are getting much more complicated to wire tap near the mirror assemblies, just way too much tech getting in the way...

I tapped the same wires you did, except the ground wire was yellow

You're welcome darkoozyl! Doesn't help much when information on a common accessory is spotty for a newer vehicle. So i'm glad you found this helpful.

I agree with too many wires to probe up there. It took me a minute to find 12v key-on only power.

Count +1 for another dashcam installed using your investigative work.
I just got delivery of my 450h+ 2 days ago.. can't live without a dashcam..

Next thing on the list is better sound (non ML stereo).

 

I do not think it is a 12 pin connector behind a mirror, because I was thinking to buy one of those splitters from Dongar for my dash camera, but I bought 16 pin splitter from them that was for a Ford vehicles, because I needed 16 pin one for my NX, and they did not have any others. Anyway, that 16 pin splitter that was meant for Ford did not work at all as it was a totally different size and out of those 16 pins there were only like 10 that had the wires lol

Big thanks for the detailed post. It was a huge help and confidence builder.
I tapped and installed a mount for a Uniden R3. It's mounted and working great!

I realize your post is dated, but they now have mounts by RadarMount and BlendMount.

 

You are very welcome and glad this thread helped you with your install! There wasn't much info out for our NX's when I wanted to install mine, so I definitely wanted to document it so it could be of future use for our members and save them some trouble. Share a pic of your install if you like!

Also thanks for the heads up on the new mount options...I would have most likely gone with the BlendMount if it was available for our cars at the time. I have one in my Coyote Mustang and it is excellent.

 

I hear you. I have a BlendMount on a BMW 5 series and it is a much nicer piece of hardware compared to the RadarMount.
