Well it was a close call scary incident, when you come across some idoit driver that almost hit you. Fortunately a quick reaction and honking works and keep my 5months old NX alive!!

The X4 has some major blind spots in the design of that SUV especially in the rear, it has a really really small rear window and major blind spots exactly where they are turning so you were right in their blind spot. It’s a badly designed vehicle.

I agree. That car has some really horrible blind spots. And the driver probably didn't have his mirrors set up correctly.
You can tell he/she's an awful driver; trying too cross a solid line as well!
BTW, is that the Cassiar tunnel? I've seen people do exactly that (cross solid white lines) inside that tunnel and it baffles me.

Well, welcome to Vancouver. Vancouver's drivers were bad but after the pandemic, I found most people seem to forget how to drive properly. I now have a habit to put my hand on my honk at each intersection, highway exit etc., getting ready to honk at idiots. Too many close calls these days and I notice it seems NOBODY understand you never ever should blocking. I'm always mindful and periodcally, there are idiots would honk at me because u know.... I do not follow the car in front of me... I should have blindly follow the line and block intersection like everybody else.. geez

I agree bro! It's just insane the way people drive in Vancity these days. One that really pisses me off is the dolts that do all they can to tailgate you. Like they never heard of a safe following distance. I dunno why, but there's something about the crazies who drive in Vancouver. And yup, just like you, I never used to but now I use my horn a lot.
Are most cars in Vancouver White? From your video it looks like it.
Yup, you got it. That's why as much as I really love ultra-white on nx f-sport, I went with cloudburst grey. Too many white SUV on the road in Vancouver
First , glad there wasn't an accident.
Second, I think all of us have been on both sides of this type of incident especially prior the Blind spot warning system.
Third, from your dash cam footage your car might have been visible in the right mirror of the BMW if not the blind spot warning would have also came on when the X4 went by you. When the BMW made a move to the right with the BSW on an audible warning would have sounded unless it was disabled also if the BSW was on when the BMW driver turned on the turn signal they would have received and audible warning. Maybe a combination of your actions together with the BSW system on the BMW saved the day.
The blind spots aren't much different/worse on the X4 than many other cars, SUVs and trucks including the NX. I think my favorite thing on my NX is the digital rearview mirror-----------------which my wife hates so she flips to the old fashion rear view.

That is highway 1 West bound toward West Vancouver, and I am in exit only lane. I reviewed the clips and I believe the impatient X4 tried to pass the MAZDA CX5 in front of him @ 20sec of the video but he could not pass him because too many cars on his left. Then he tired to cross the solid lane to pass the CX-5 and thats almost hit me and cause the accident. Also I believe that X4 is equipped with blind spot monitor @ 33 sec of video his right side mirror has a yellow dot light. He probably never bother to check his mirror due to his impatient behaviour! At last @ 57 sec of video he was finally passed the CX-5 and proud of himself LOL!
