Default Paddle Shifter Extensions

Anyone gotten any paddle shifter extensions for their NX200t? I got one off of Ebay , but it interferes with the cruise control lever. Every time I hit the +shift it hits the cruise control.

Slightly off topic but I can't understand why my NX 300h has paddle shifters. It's a epicyclic gear train CVT automatic so why should I shift gears myself? It's almost as unnecessary as the fake gear change sound in my sons FsportS with a similar drivetrain.

I wondered that too when I purchased an ES hybrid with paddle shifters, and I initially thought they were silly on a car with a CVT. What I have found is that they are useful in mountain driving when I want to use engine braking to slow the vehicle rather than riding the brakes hard. Its easier to shift up/down without taking your hands off the wheel, which can be dicey on curvy/steep mountain roads. Of course, I realize a CVT doesn't have actual gears, but it still simulates gears and helps slow the vehicle on those steep grades. So they are surprisingly handy under those circumstances, but otherwise I cannot see any use for them. Since I live in a mountainous region, I like them and actually use them occasionally.

I have driven manual transmission most of my life. I like to be able to shift gears when I want and not when my car thinks I should. If I need to accelerate I want to be in a gear where I can go now and not wait for the RPM's to get up. I also like to downshift when I come to a stop. I hardly drive in automatic mode. I am mostly in manual with Sport mode. The paddle shifters make it easier that with the stick. It's also a little more fun especially with the rev matching downshifts.. Makes me feel like I am more in control of my car.
